happy birthday to me!

Hello all!

Sorry for the lack of updates- i have been extremely busy recently! Today (or yesterday, rather...June 4!) was my 20th birthday! hooray! :) i spent it with my boyfriend and some of my close friends from school, plus ate at PF Changs- so it was pretty good. got lots of money from my parents and grandparents, which i plan to use on my next tattoo! tomorrow i'm having a British tea party celebration, so I will post more on that later.

I promise more recipes soon (and some product reviews- like Coconut Bliss Ice Cream!)- but for now, I'm quickly going to do this survey I found on Chef Katelyn, so enjoy and leave me comments on what you think about my answers!


A is for Apple: What’s your favorite variety?
well, really i like anything except for red delicious. i love granny smith apples! although i am a picky apple eater - i prefer to buy bags of already slice apples and eat them that way... i'm not much for just grabbing an apple and munching on it.
B is for Bread: Regardless of nutrition, what is your favorite type?Sourdough is great. so is focaccia! and baguettes. but you can absolutely enver go wrong with any kind of whole wheat or whole grain braid, which is probably my favorite.
C is for Cereal: What is your favorite kind currently? (just one!)i dont eat very much cereal, but when i do, i LOVE crispix and chex and  cinnamon toast crunch. i could eat an entire box of crispix in one sitting, i love it that much.
D is for Donuts: You might not currently eat them, but what kind do you fancy?never a big donut fun either. but dark chocolate cake covered in dark chocolate, like the ones by entenmanns, are the BEST.
E is for Eggs: How would you like yours prepared?when i ate eggs, i liked them sunny-side up. but no more eggs for me :)
F is for Fat Free: What is your favorite fat free product?fruits! mango, strawberries, raspberries, watermelon, cantelope, pineapple. blackberries, kiwi....lots of it. and is hummus fat free? because i could a tub of hummus.
G is for Groceries: Where do you purchase yours?Krogers and Whole Foods. love both. whole foods is my all time favorite grocery store.
H: is for Hot Beverages: What is your favorite hot drink?
hot chocolate!!! fo sho.
I is for Ice Cream: Pick a favorite flavor and add a fun topping.
black raspberry chip with chocolate sprinkles. yummy!!
J is for Jams or Jellies: Do you eat them? If so, what kind and flavor?i loveeee jelly. especially fruit preserves. raspberry and blackberry fruit preserves are the way to go!
K is for Kashi: Name your favorite Kashi product?
i honestly don't think i've had enough Kashi to tell you. but kashi is delicious!
L is for Lunch: What was yours today?leftover pasta from dinner at Maggiano's last night - whole wheat penne with olive oil, garlic, and tons of veggies! delish.
M is for microwave: What is your favorite microwave meal/snack?
it used to be ramen noodles. now its vegan ramen noodles like the ones by Thai Kitchen. so good. and i love Amy's frozen indian meals.
N is for nutrients: Do you likes carbs, fats, or proteins best?
i eat a crap ton of all three, so i dont know!  but here are my favorites for each category: pasta, chocolate, and hummus!
O is for oil: What kind do you like to use?
olive oil, canola oil, coconut oil
P is for protein: How do you get yours?
i eat TONS of beans. and nuts. and sometimes tofu, but mostly through beans and nuts.
Q is for Quaker: How do you like your oats?with brown sugar and craisins and cinnamon! and maybe some agave nectar.
R is for roasting: What is your favorite thing to roast?asparagus and red potatoes!
S is for sandwich: What’s your favorite kind?
tomato sandwiches! fresh sliced tomatoes with salt and pepper on toast and a smear of mayo. yummy. too bad i cant find any good vegan mayo... :(
T is for travel: How do you handle eating while traveling?
I pack a crap ton of snacks and yummy foods. i usually pack candy, pretzels, hummus, and fruits.
U is for unique: What is one of your weirdest food combos?
i just discovered how yummy it is to dip raw cashews into hummus! (can you tell im obsessed with hummus?) its so delish!!!!
V is for vitamins: What kind do you take?
i dont' take any vitamins, actually, except for a B-12 pill whenever i randomly feel like it.
W is for wasabi: Yay or nay?yay! I love wasabi!!
X is XRAY: If we xrayed your belly right now, what food would we see?
cookies, cookie dough, PF changs, pasta from maggianos, and ice cream
Y is for youth: What food reminds you of your childhood?
banana spice cookies and tomato sandwiches.
Z is for zucchini: How do you prepare it?steamed and plain, steamed in a pot with some butter, or roasted with olive oil and garlic. so good.
