Vegan Mofo #13: Manna Bread Organics & GIVEAWAY!

Who doesn't love a good giveaway?!

No one, that's who!

I recently received in the mail 4 loaves of Manna Bread from the wonderful people over at Manna Organic Bakery. Manna Organics is a Chicago based, family owned and operated bakery, where they make each loaf of bread BY HAND with lots of love! If it's made by hand, it has be great, right? They have a billion different flavors (maybe not - but they do have a lot!).

It's sprouted bread, but not really bread - it's whole grains that have been sprouted and cooked for a long time at a low temperature - nearly raw. With no sweeteners or leavening agents of any sorts, it's super healthy and great for people on various different diets or eating plans. No yeast, no salt, no flour, no oils!

As I mentioned before, I received 4 loaves in the mail: Carrot Raisin, Fig Fennel Flax, Cinnamon Date, and Rye. In general, all the breads were extremely moist, sticky, and delicious. They were also pretty to look at and had great flavor.

First up was Carrot Raisin!

I was really excited to try this because I envisioned it tasting like carrot cake in my head. In bread form. And really, it did- a less sweet version, and I bet it'd be really tasty with some vegan cream cheese icing on top! The first thing I noticed was, again, how moist it was. And it was delicious - the carrots and raisins were both prominent flavors.

Next up was Cinnamon Date!

This was definitely my favorite flavor. But then again, I love everything cinnamon! It was kind of like cinnamon raisin bread but with dates instead. Again, it was moist, sticky, and sweet. And SO CINNAMON-Y! =D

Next...Fig Fennel Flax!

I LOVE figs. And I love that you got chunks of fig in this bread. The fennel flavor was also very prominent, and the pumpkin seeds on top added a nice crunch and change in texture. Moist and delicious!

Finally, the Bavarian Rye Sourdough.

I'm totally not a fan of rye. I never have been. And I'm still not a fan. However, the bread was good and makes for good sandwich bread if you enjoy rye and want something healthy!

These breads were delicious, and now I REALLY want to try their Banana Walnut flavor. I bet it's banana bread-y goodness...

Now for the best part.. a GIVEAWAY!

Manna Bread Organics has kindly offered to mail FOUR loaves of bread (that's right.. FOUR!) to one lucky reader! They will ship this directly to your house, and either you can pick the four flavors you want, or they will send you their 4 popular flavors!
