WIAW #12: Happy [Turkeyless] Day!

I know. There was a link up for Thanksgiving meals already - but I didn't have time to post then, so a Thanksgiving WIAW it is!
Clearly I can't wish you a happy turkey day, because so many turkeys are killed for Thanksgiving :( So here's to have a happy TURKEYLESS day!

And now for my feast of [mostly] vegan-friendly eats! The menu included:

Tofurky Sandwiches
This is the first year I tried Tofurky. Oh boy. YUMMY!

Delicious, but really strong mushroom flavor. Still good though!

My Orange Cranberry Sauce
[recipe to follow shortly]

Spork Online's Creamed Onion Casserole
Meh. Mediocre at best. Probably wouldn't make it again.

Roasted Butternut Squash
Delicious.
No photo for this one, I forgot... sorry!
Skinny Bitch: Sweet Potato and Leek Casserole

Chocolate Covered Katie's No-Bake Chocolate Pumpkin Pie
I added agave nectar to mine. I didn't think this pie was sweet enough without it!

Alicia Silverstone's Gingered Pears
This was my favorite part of the meal! SO good!

My Ultimate Fudgie Wudgie Brownies
Recipe coming this week! PROMISE!

Other: my mom made roasted butternut squash, a pumpkin pie with cream cheese, and a blackberry jam cake. Sound good?

Can you tell I REALLY like casseroles?! Ha. I thought so.

And then I wrapped it all up with a glass or two of sparkling peach juice!

What was your favorite thing you ate on Thanksgiving?!
Much love,

  4. I had a much less successful (almost) vegan Thanksgiving. I don't think my family's quite ready to go there, yet. :) I was able to negotiate a delicious meal regardless!

Is Tofurky really as good as you say???

  7. Cranberry sauce. Om nom nom. My mom made an all natural one this year with pears, apples, and cranberries in it. It was mind blowing. I stole some to bring back to my apartment to put on all things.

Thanks for sharing all these T-day recipes. I'm going to have to send some to my mom for next year!

  11. I really liked the Tofurky, so yes, I think it was really good! It tasted similar to turkey or what I remember of it, although it did have a little bit of a different texture.
